Catholic Pedophilia Investigator Jailed For Pedophilia
From The New Civil Rights Movement:
The Catholic Church’s pedophilia investigator, in charge of child protection and interviewing adults who as children had been victims of pedophile priests today was jailed on pedophilia charges in England. 49-year old Christopher Jarvis, a married man with four children of his own, began serving his 12-month sentence after serving the Catholic Church for nine years in a dioscese that included 120 Catholic Churches. Jarvis admitted to the charges, which included possession of 4000 images of pre-pubescent boys, including several depicting sadism, child rape, and torture.
“The revelations that the church hired a peadophile in a key child protection role will add to the controversy surrounding the Roman Catholic Church in England and Wales over its handling of sexual abuse,” The Daily Mail reported today.

Pope Benedict to Resign [Updated]
From CNN:
The spiritual leader of 1.2 billion Catholics, Pope Benedict XVI, surprised the world Monday by saying will resign at the end of the month "because of advanced age."It's the first time a pope has resigned in nearly 600 years."Strength of mind and body are necessary, strength which in the last few months has deteriorated in me to the extent that I have had to recognize my incapacity to adequately fulfill the ministry entrusted to me," the pope said, according to the Vatican. After Benedict's resignation becomes effective on February 28, cardinals will meet to choose a new leader for the church."Before Easter, we will have the new pope," the Rev. Federico Lombardi, a Vatican spokesman, said at a news conference.

Dutch Catholics Leaving Over Marriage
From Huffington Post:
AMSTERDAM (Reuters) - Thousands of Dutch Catholics are researching how they can leave the church in protest at its opposition to gay marriage, according to the creator of a website aimed at helping them find the information.
Tom Roes, whose website allows people to download the documents needed to leave the church, said traffic on ontdopen.nl - "de-baptise.nl" - had soared from about 10 visits a day to more than 10,000 after Pope Benedict's latest denunciation of gay marriage this month.
"Of course it's not possible to be 'de-baptized' because a baptism is an event, but this way people can unsubscribe or de-register themselves as Catholics," Roes told Reuters.~In a Christmas address to Vatican officials, the pope signaled the he was ready to forge alliances with other religions against gay marriage, saying the family was threatened "to its foundations" by attempts to change its "true structure".
Roes, a television director, said he left the church and set up his website partly because he was angry about the way the church downplayed or covered-up sexual abuse in Catholic orphanages, boarding schools and seminaries.

Pope + Twitter = Controversy
From Gay Star News:
Benedict XVI, tweeting under his formal title of Pontifex, has already attracted over 1 million followers – making him bigger than anyone called Jesus on the social networking platform. The head of the Catholic Church has attracted lots of faithful followers who have been enthusiastically retweeting his comments. But many of the comments left in response to Benedict have criticized his conservative stance on contraception, women in the church and gay issues. And others have expressed their anger over paedophilia in the Catholic Church.By tweeting benign messages such as 'any suggestions on how to be more prayerful when we are so busy with the demands of work, families and the world?' the Pontiff has opened the field to responses such as 'don’t cover up child rape' and ‘we could all become priests. Well men could anyway'.

The Wrap-Up: March 12, 2012
This weekend saw a pair of Caucuses take place, but the overall picture of the GOP nomination looks pretty much the same.
How does Newt Gingrich plan on staying in the race? One word: Twitter.
One of the primary groups behind Minnesota's campaign to constitutionally ban marriage equality is under investigation.
Unlike most people in the sports world, whether coaches, players, commentators, etc., Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban knows how to make an ACTUAL apology after saying something somewhat homophobic.
Save California (a certified hate-group) has begun its campaign to overturn SB48, the bill passed which mandates the teaching of the contribution the LGBT community has made to society. After all, having kids know that the guy who wrote Fanfare for the Common Man (Aaron Copland) was gay would ruin the country...
The Pope took some time out of his busy pedophile protecting schedule to denounce marriage equality. Seriously, this guy needs to adjust his priorities.
At a Pennsylvania school, a flippant remark goes out of control, "telephone" style.
There are some great polling numbers in the fight against North Carolina's Amendment One (the attempt to ban marriage equality constitutionally). I'm cautiously optimistic because remember, it always comes down to turnout.
And lastly, with so many southern primaries on the horizon, Mitt Romney's serial-pandering reaches new depths.
