A Pastor's "Sexual Purity Cleansing" of Teen Boys

After several complaints from young teen boys in the area, [pastor Brent] Girouex confessed to having sex with the boys because he was sure it would help “with homosexual urges by praying while he had sexual contact with [them]." 

Girouex admitted to police that he began his "sexual purity cleansing" back in 2007 with four teenage boys, but at least eight other victims have come forward since then. He insists the actions with teens as young as 14 were mutual, with one "relationship" lasting nearly four years.

Really? We have gone from "pray the gay away" to "ejaculate the gay away?"

First and foremost, sexual orientation is not something that can be changed. In any given person, it is what it is - whatever that may be - and it is going nowhere. Of course we have been saying that for what seems like years beyond count, but some people refuse to believe it...for whatever reason. Second, when emotionally vulnerable people are placed in situations like these - made to feel like who they are makes them bad or evil - they are far more susceptible to emotional, physical, and sexual abuse. This incident is a prime and horrific example of this. Many people who attempt conversion therapy only become better emotionally when they come to terms with who they are and accept that conversion therapy is a sham.

There have been numerous stories of the tactics of conversion therapy and how...bizarre...they are. I posted a story some time back where the method of making men with same-sex attractions "straight" involved a bunch of them praying and then playing contact sports. I have no idea why it makes sense to some people that a guy who is into other guys will suddenly be into women because they are surrounded by several other sweaty guys, tackling them to the ground. It just strikes me as counter-productive.

Then there was way back when when it was discovered that Marcus Bachmann (the husband of Rep. Michele Bachmann) had a counseling clinic where part of their methodology included "hug therapy" where the patient was hugged by their therapist. Did I mention that many of the people working at these places are "ex-gays" themselves? And lastly, I will mention that some of these conversion "doctors" will have patients beat effigies of their mother with a stick, because that seems like a perfectly healthy way of turning a gay person straight. And now we have a pastor who thinks he can make teen boys ejaculate the gay out of themselves and will do what it takes to "help" them out.

The Iowa pastor is on $30,000 bond, you know, because he can be trusted in public where there are kids. According to Queerty:

According to local CBS affiliate KCCI 8, a judge issued Girouex a 17-year-prison sentence for the rape of as many as eight underage boys in 2012, but later suspended the sentence to allow Girouex to seek “sex offender treatment” and remain on probation for five years.

So besides being made to feel terrible about who they are, and on top of enduring sexual abuse, there will be no justice at the end of the day. This is one of the worst such stories I have heard in quite some time.

Catholic Pedophilia Investigator Jailed For Pedophilia

The Catholic Church’s pedophilia investigator, in charge of child protection and interviewing adults who as children had been victims of pedophile priests today was jailed on pedophilia charges in England. 49-year old Christopher Jarvis, a married man with four children of his own, began serving his 12-month sentence after serving the Catholic Church for nine years in a dioscese that included 120 Catholic Churches. Jarvis admitted to the charges, which included possession of 4000 images of pre-pubescent boys, including several depicting sadism, child rape, and torture.

“The revelations that the church hired a peadophile in a key child protection role will add to the controversy surrounding the Roman Catholic Church in England and Wales over its handling of sexual abuse,” The Daily Mail reported today.

Pa. Gov. To Sue NCAA Over Sanctions On Penn State

The governor's office announced the news conference late Tuesday afternoon. His spokesman did not respond to repeated calls and emails seeking to confirm a Sports Illustrated story that cited anonymous sources saying a lawsuit was imminent.

State and congressional lawmakers from Pennsylvania have objected to using the Penn State fine to finance activities in other states. Penn State has already made the first $12 million payment, and an NCAA task force is deciding how it should be spent.

The NCAA, which did not respond to calls seeking comment Tuesday, has said at least a quarter of the money would be spent in Pennsylvania.

Republican U.S. Rep. Charlie Dent called that an "unacceptable and unsatisfactory" response by the NCAA to a request from the state's U.S. House delegation that the whole $60 million be distributed to causes within the state.

Dutch Catholics Leaving Over Marriage

AMSTERDAM (Reuters) - Thousands of Dutch Catholics are researching how they can leave the church in protest at its opposition to gay marriage, according to the creator of a website aimed at helping them find the information. 

Tom Roes, whose website allows people to download the documents needed to leave the church, said traffic on ontdopen.nl - "de-baptise.nl" - had soared from about 10 visits a day to more than 10,000 after Pope Benedict's latest denunciation of gay marriage this month. 

"Of course it's not possible to be 'de-baptized' because a baptism is an event, but this way people can unsubscribe or de-register themselves as Catholics," Roes told Reuters.

In a Christmas address to Vatican officials, the pope signaled the he was ready to forge alliances with other religions against gay marriage, saying the family was threatened "to its foundations" by attempts to change its "true structure".

Roes, a television director, said he left the church and set up his website partly because he was angry about the way the church downplayed or covered-up sexual abuse in Catholic orphanages, boarding schools and seminaries.

Penn State Sanctions & Paterno Family Response

Penn State football was all but dismantled Monday by an NCAA ruling that wiped away 14 years of coach Joe Paterno's victories and imposed a mountain of fines and penalties, crippling a program whose pedophile assistant coach spent years molesting children, sometimes on school property.

The sanctions by the governing body of college sports also imposed unprecedented fines of $60 million, ordered Penn State to sit out the postseason for four years, capped scholarships at 20 below the normal limit for four years and placed football on five years' probation.

Current or incoming football players are free to immediately transfer and compete at another school.

The NCAA's sanctions following the worst scandal in the history of college football stopped short of delivering the "death penalty" - shutting down the sport completely. It actually did everything but kill it.

Sexual abuse is reprehensible, especially when it involves children, and no one starting with Joe Paterno condones or minimizes it. The horrific acts committed by Jerry Sandusky shock the conscience of every decent human being. How Sandusky was able to get away with his crimes for so long has yet to be fully understood, despite the claims and assertions of the Freeh report.

The release of the Freeh report has triggered an avalanche of vitriol, condemnation and posthumous punishment on Joe Paterno. The NCAA has now become the latest party to accept the report as the final word on the Sandusky scandal. The sanctions announced by the NCAA today defame the legacy and contributions of a great coach and educator without any input from our family or those who knew him best.

No comment would have been the better thing for them to say, given that it is the abused/raped kids who are the victims, not Paterno, nor Penn State.

The Religious Wrong: Blame Kinsey For Pedophilia

So according to these people, correlation equals causation? Yet again, at least in this instance, patently false.

As far as anything being commonly known as the "K-Bomb," I have never, ever heard that phrase until seeing this video. I Googled and didn't really find anything like what these two people were discussing with the exception of something from a Catholic website. That particular site, however, was talking about Weisman (the lady in the video) using the term. That was literally the only place I found "K-Bomb" used in this context. So as for this being common knowledge or a common term, that claim is false on its face. My hunch is that Weisman (or someone of her ilk) came up with this term and it is only used within that circle. It is anything but common.

Weisman also says the pedophile problem hasn't been happening forever. How exactly would she know that? When the Church was the law some centuries ago, I'm sure this was going on then. The difference is that in addition to the "normal" fear a kid would have about reporting your average authority figure, there is the added reality that a Church figure would somehow retaliate against said child with zero fear of repercussions. It would be relatively easy for the power of the Church to cover this up (which they still try to do to this day).

If the Catholic Church wanted to do something about the pedophilia problem within its ranks, it certainly could. A zero tolerance policy would send a strong message that the Church will no longer stand for its own officials harming children. Besides the obvious fact that this would save innumerable kids from molestation, it would be damn good PR. Instead, the Church does naught but hide pedophiles from criminal justice, sacrifice more children, and spend hundreds of millions of parishioners dollars on court settlements.

In short, the answer to the question "why does the Catholic Church have such a major pedophile problem" has nothing to do with Albert Kinsey or his research. The reason that the Catholic Church has such a major pedophile problem is because THE CATHOLIC CHURCH REFUSES TO LIFT A FINGER TO STOP IT.

Bill Donahue, the President of the Catholic League, has a history of defending the Catholic church against pedophilia charges instead of actually working to get guilty priests out of the priesthood where they have no business being. This, however, almost surprised even me...almost.
