North Dakota Considers LGBT Anti-Discrimination

North Dakota legislators are considering a bill that would prohibit discrimination based on sexual orientation in housing, government, public services and the workplace. 

SB2252 would amend the North Dakota Fair Housing Act and the North Dakota Human Rights Act. It is sponsored by a group of lawmakers that includes Fargo Rep. Josh Boschee, the state's first openly gay legislator.

Similar legislation was introduced in 2009. It passed the Senate but failed in a House committee. Boschee says the state has changed since then.

The bill exempts religious organizations, but some religious groups are still opposing it.

While Senate Republicans in Iowa are pushing hard to debate marriage equality in the chamber (despite being the minority party), the Senate majority leader (Michael Gronstal) makes a strong argument to counter them.

Released in Australia, this is probably the best pro-marriage equality ad that has been made to date.
